We feel very blessed to call Noosa home. With an abundance of beautiful beaches, lush bushland and stunning hinterland at our doorstep, we want to ensure we’re doing our bit to keep it this way for generations to come. It’s for this reason that sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Aromas.
We are continually searching for innovative and stylish substitutes for plastic to use at Aromas. We are proud members of Plastic Free Noosa, an organization that is passionate about our environment and on a mission to reduce single-use plastics in the Noosa area. It is initiatives like this that motivate us to try harder to find more ways that we can do our bit to be more sustainable. We wanted to share with you a few ways in which we are changing our ways for a better future.
If you’ve visited Aromas recently you may have noticed our takeaway cups. Beautifully designed with our signature watercolour designs, these cups are certified biodegradable and compostable, and our takeaway cutlery and containers are made from biodegradable wood and cardboard.
Another step we’re taking is to collect the vegetable scraps and coffee grinds and deliver them out to our hinterland property, Maravista Farm to be composted. This nutrient-rich compost is then used to grow the produce we use at Aromas, reducing food miles and completing the circle from pasture to plate and back again.
We hope that by sharing the small steps we are taking, we will in turn encourage and motivate others about the simple yet significant ways in which we can be kinder to our planet.
