Noosa Main Beach is iconic and when you first step onto its white sand and look out across the blue expanse, you understand why. It has everything you could ever need – surf, sand, food, shops, shade, and gorgeous blue water – so why relax anywhere else?
Noosa boasts a number of smaller and more private beaches that offer just as much beauty, with less of a crowd. The locals know about them, and now you do too.
ALEXANDRIA BAY
Only accessible by foot, and listed in traveller.com.au Top Five Secret Beaches List, Alexandria Bay is a gorgeous escape hidden away between Hell’s Gate and Lion’s Rock in Noosa National Park. But beware, it is known turning a blind eye to an eyeful…
TEA TREE BAY
Also in Noosa National Park, this beach is a magic wind-protected cove. It’s a bit of a journey to Hastings Street for supplies so be sure to pack some take away snacks and smoothies from aromas.
SUNSHINE BEACH
Sunshine Beach is the laid back cousin to Main Beach. A casual atmosphere and gorgeous sand and ocean make for a relaxed break from the pace of Noosa’s Hastings Street.
NOOSA SPIT
The picnic spot of choice for locals, Noosa Spit is along the Noosa River so you might spot a riverboat making its way past. It’s also a dog-friendly beach so there might be a number of pooches swimming in water. To find the spit head west on Hastings Street towards Noosa Sound until you reach Claude Batten Drive.
